iHumans
iHumans are found in the space in-between nature, technology and humanity. The new species within this altered reality evolved from the artist’s inner desire to escape from the digital world and become one with nature during the coronavirus pandemic.
Through a deep urge to express physically her internal world the artist creates fragmented improvisational photographic performance images. After the performance she discovers a pattern, and forms an unconscious visual language and story line. It is no longer the creator in the image but the essence of what the artist feels, thinks or wishes. Below are the first fragments and writings of iHumans, that may evolve and change as the series continues.

In Eden's Garden
Artist edited passage from the Genesis story of Adam and Eve in modern English:
The Serpent said to the woman, ‘Did God say, “You shall not eat from any tree in the garden”?’ 2 The woman said to the serpent, ‘We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden; 3 but God said, “You shall not eat of the fruit of the apple tree that is in the middle of the garden, nor shall you touch it, or you shall die.”’ 4 But the serpent said to the woman, ‘You will not die; 5 for God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.’ 6 So when the woman saw that the tree did not grow the same fruit as the other trees in the garden and that it grew something that was to be desired to make one wise, it was a delight to the eyes, and she took of its fruit and ate. Then her eyes were opened, and she knew that she was naked. |
The Lord God called to the woman, and said ‘Where are you?’ 10 she said, ‘I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.’ 11 He said, ‘Who told you that you were naked? Have you taken from the tree of which I commanded you not to touch?’ 3 The woman said, ‘The serpent tricked me, and I took from the tree and now I am like you and see with opened eyes.’

TheLord God said to the woman because you have done this, Technology will rule over you. You will spend the rest of your days loving only yourself and your reflection. Burdened are you to care what others think of you. You will care only for your image and the search for happiness.
Your back will arch and your mind will numb as you search for enlightenment and the divine Garden I blessed you with for eternity. Cursed is the ground because of you; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life; 18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field. 19 By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; you are dust, and to dust you shall return.’ 20 |
21 The Lord God made her a garments of skin and sent her forth from the garden of Eden. The woman named herself Eve, and became the mother of the all iHumans.

Embrace your Inner Nature
Disconnect from digital life and walk through nature, look up to the swaying tree tops and hear the birdsong, loose yourself in the colours of the leaves and shades of green, examine the detailed textures of the bark on trees, forget who you are and breath in the fresh breeze, smelling the natural scents of the woodland and earth beneath your feet. Feel the presence of the now and embrace your inner nature.
