Welcome Digital Native to ‘The New Eve-olution’
We have adapted a cultural norm in the procedure of our everyday lives which relies on navigating through apps and literally living through social media platforms to communicate with each other. This is causing an imbalance between our digital life and our real life; the more information that is being instantaneously poured upon us, the more confusing and overwhelming the world is appearing in our constantly-on environment.
As an artist I am heavily aware of the darkness that technology is spreading as we try to keep up with the speeds of technology and the continual evolution of our digital devices, and so I use my art as a life raft to keep my head above the waves of computational thinking.
Through performance art and imagery, I unveil my internal feelings of being forced to continuously navigate digitally in my habitat. I use my body to physically express and make visible the impact that our all-consuming digital world is having on our bodies, minds and futures.
This exhibtion space invited the viewer to disconnect from their environment and enter 'The New Eve-olution', by making themselves comfortable on my interactive cloud and they discover through my Digital Native User Guide meditation how mindfulness can enable you to disable your digitally cluttered mind, in the hope that you are reborn into the now-made visible environment.
